Ha fatto molto scalpore la lettera aperta di Taylor Swift per opporsi fermamente alla richiesta di Apple per avere tre mesi di canzoni gratis sulla loro nuova piattaforma Music: i diritti degli artisti sono sacrosanti e vanno riconosciuti sempre, anche quando li si propone in promozione ai propri clienti!
Brava Taylor, con la sua coraggiosa presa di posizione è riuscita a far cambiare idea ad un colosso come Apple, che ha deciso correttamente di riconoscere i compensi ai musicisti anche durante il periodo di prova del suo nuovo servizio.
Ma... un momento, come tratta gli artisti la signora Swift?
Leggendo quanto scrive il fotografo Jason Sheldon infatti, sembra che la cantante non abbia lo stesso comportamento corretto nei confronti dei suoi fotografi: chi vuole scattare foto durante i suoi eventi, deve infatti cedere l'esclusiva solo a lei, che poi potrà farne quello che vuole, promozione, album, ecc. senza dare nulla agli autori delle immagini.
I fotografi non possono neanche vendere le foto alle agenzie, ai giornali e neanche avere un ritorno in caso di vendita a terze parti.
Beh, signora Swift, forse un po' di coerenza sarebbe gradita.

But... wait a moment, how does Ms. Swift herself treats artists?
Unfortunately, from reading what the photographer Jason Sheldon writes, it seems that the singer doesn't apply the same policy with her photographers - if they want to work during her events, they must transfer the “exclusive only” to her.
Then, she will be able to use their pictures for anything she would like (promotion, covers, etc.), without recognizing anything to the authors (read “artists”, see above).
Photographers cannot sell their pictures to agencies, magazines or anybody, and not even have a fee in case of third-party sales.
Well, Mrs. Swift, maybe a little bit of consistency would be appreciated.
